It’s Friday the 13th!
Been pretty busy this morning with my mom and 2 of the grand kids.
I said in a earlier post, I am doing all things ham this week. Gotta get rid of the left overs. Plus this time of year you can get some great deals on ham. For years I have made this recipe, it’s so simple and only has a few ingredients. Better get back to chasing the kids!

Ham and Green Beans in the Slow Cooker

Serves 6
Prep time 20 minutes
Cook time 6 hours
Total time 6 hours, 20 minutes
Simple slow cooker recipe. Great for left over ham.

Ingredients

  • 2lb ham (cubed)
  • 2lb fresh green beans
  • 2lb potatoes (cubed)
  • 4 cups chicken broth
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • sea salt
  • fresh pepper

Directions

Add Potatoes to the slow cooker, cover with chicken broth. Depending on the potato you may want to cut them into small pieces. Mine were fingerling and they are already small.
Add fresh green beans.Sprinkle with garlic powder, salt and pepper.
Add ham. Sprinkle with garlic powder.
Set slow cooker for 6 hours on low heat.
Stir and eat.

Hi Cheryl! I guess you already have your answer by now. I always fill mine up because it does cook down by I would say 1/3. I hope you enjoyed the recipe. I make this all the time when the weather starts to cool down. Thanks for dropping by.

Thank you for sharing this recipe. I have several extremely picky eaters in my large family and therly devoured this meal. We had no leftovers and they asked me when I was making it again.

I’m so glad your family enjoyed the recipe. It’s definitely one of my favorites and it’s so simple to make.
