It’s March madness at my house. I think it’s my husband’s favorite time of year, college basketball. I like to make dinners that he can eat while he watches the games. Sliders are a great choice for game watching. Add lots of cheese and they are perfect! I decided to stuff these with cheese as well as top them with cheese. These are super cheesy meatball sliders. I hope you enjoy them as much as we do. GO UD! 🙂
You’ll need:
2 pounds of ground beef chuck
3 cloves of garlic minced
1/2 cup diced onion
1 teaspoon dry oregano
1 teaspoon dry basil
1 cup grated mozzarella cheese (3/4 cup – 1/4 cup)
1 cup grated parmesan or romano cheese
4 string cheese sticks, each cut into 4ths
4 cups of red sauce, use your favorite spaghetti sauce (2 1/2 cups – 1 1/2 cups)
slider buns
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F.
Lightly spray a baking dish with oil.
Spread 3 cups of red sauce on the bottom of the baking dish.
In a large bowl mix gently together the beef, garlic, onion, oregano, basil, 3/4 mozzarella and romano cheese. Do not over mix.
Divide mixture into 15 equal size balls. Press 1/4 of a cheese stick into center of the meatball and close meat around cheese.
Bake for 25 to 30 minutes or until cooked to 165 degrees F using a meat thermometer.
Remove from the oven and serve.
