It feels like spring today here in Ohio, but it’s not, it’s still winter. Even though today it’s 70 degrees outside, tomorrow it’ll be in the 30’s so I’m going to bring out my slow cooker and cook the pork roast.  Now on to the recipe.

  • 3 or 4 sliced carrots
  • 1 lb brussel sprouts
  • 3 large potatoes cut into bite size pieces
  • 1 medium onion cut into bite size pieces
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 pepper

Instructions

  1. Add the carrots, potatoes, onion and brussel sprouts into the bottom of the slow cooker.
  2. Season with garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  3. Place the pork roast on top of the vegetables and season with garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Cook on low setting for 8 hours.
  4. When the pork roast is done lift it out of the slow cooker and set aside to slice. If your roast is wrapped with a string, cut it off carefully, watch out it's hot!

Oh am so sorry to hear that. Slow cookers vary in temperature. Some cook hotter than others. I’ve actually gotten rid of one because it cooked too hot even on low. It was a fast-slow cooker, not a slow-slow cooker.
