I must confess, sometimes when I make these No-Bake Chocolate Peanut Butter Oatmeal Cookies I don’t share any of them. I will make a batch and store them way in the back on the bottom shelf of the refrigerator where I figure my husband won’t look 🙂 Shameful isn’t it? But… that’s how good these cookies are! I have been making them since grade school. They aren’t a healthy snack, but they do at least have oatmeal and the oatmeal makes them over the top delicious.

You’ll need:

2 cups sugar

4 tablespoons cocoa

1/2 cup butter

1/2 cup milk

1 cup peanut butter

1 tablespoon vanilla

3 cups oatmeal

Waxed paper

In a large heavy sauce pan combine sugar, cocoa, butter, and milk.

Heat to boiling. Boil for one minute.

Remove from heat. Add peanut butter and vanilla.

Add oatmeal and mix.

Drop by teaspoonful onto the waxed paper.

I quick set them in the freezer and store then in the refrigerator in a closed container.

Growing up, my mother made a similar cookie. We called them “Fudgies”. :O) You wouldn’t believe what they charge for these cookies in the stores. And you can’t even lick the bowl there! Sheesh! *LOL*

No bake cookies are the best.. Always make some when hubby is out of town as he has a peanut allergy… or I leave the peanut butter out if he is at home. Thanks for sharing on Foodie Friends Friday and hope to see you again this coming week.

Yumm! My mother-in-law used to make these, and I have not made them in such a long time. I have trouble getting them to set…they are either too hard or will not form. I will try your recipe! Thanks for posting.

These cookies sound delicious, and as far as I’m concerned, if they have oatmeal in them they are healthy 😉 I like how quick and easy they are to make, and all the wholesome ingredients in them. I’ve pinned them 🙂 Thank you for sharing your recipe with The Gallery of Favorites.
