It’s apple season! I love this time of year and I love apple pie, apple cider, apple crisp, any kind of apple concoctions I can think of. When I was a child my mom would have us gathering apples from a local tree. If they were free we were gathering them. lol. My mom was a very frugal woman. So today I am sharing my absolute favorite apple dish. Apple Crumble Pie some call it Dutch Apple Pie.
Found a recipe at my favorite recipe site allrecipes and tweaked it a bit.
For the Pie you’ll need:
1 9-inch pie crust
5 cups of sliced apple
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup sucanat/sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 tablespoon flour
Topping:
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup sucanat/sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon
3/4 cup flour
8 tablespoons butter
Core and slice your apples thin. Coat with the sugars and cinnamon.
Mix it all together until well coated.
Put the apples in your uncooked pie crust.
In a bowl mix together the sugar flour and butter until crumbly. Evenly sprinkle the topping mix over the apples.
