Ingredients
- 10 cups dried bread cubes
- 1 stick butter
- 1 cup diced onion
- 1 cup diced celery
- 2 cups broth (I made mine by boiling the turkey neck)
Instructions
- I made my bread cubes the fast and easy way. I diced 16 slices of whole wheat bread into small cubes.
- Spread the cubes in a single layer on a baking sheet. I used 2 baking sheets.
- Bake at 275° F for 45 to 60 minutes, turning a few times so they bake evenly. They are ready when they are dried, brown, and crisp. Cool and toss in a large bowl, set aside.
- Using a skillet, melt the butter, add the diced onion and celery. Sauté until soft. Add the sautéed onion and celery to the crispy bread cubes. Pour in the broth and mix well.
- Set aside and get your turkey ready for the stuffing.
- Place the dressing inside the prepared turkey.
- Cook turkey as directed. Simple Roasted Turkey Recipe.
- Stuffing is ready when the center temperature reaches 165° F.
- Remove the stuffing from the cooked bird and put into a serving bowl.
- Keep warm until ready to serve. Enjoy!

Using a medium-size skillet, melt the butter. I have to tell you how much I am loving my Copper Chef pan. I cannot tell you how many years I have searched for a pan that truly does not let your food stick to the bottom of the pan! I will be the first to admit I’ve seen those commercial about Copper Chef pans and didn’t believe them, but I do now. I use this pan for all sorts of things, almost everything, even when I pop popcorn I use it. It pops almost every last kernel, amazing! Anyway, back to the recipe!
