I have always wondered if buying organic is really that much more beneficial for you. I have been buying less processed foods. Buying more locally grown fruits and vegetables. Last summer I bought corn, green beans, and green peppers to freeze for the winter.
The deals on fruits and vegetables at the groceries are hard to pass up. So I decided to do a little research on the subject. I found a great article on eating organic on WHFoods”. It talks about the dirty dozen, foods having the most pesticides. It also talks about the clean 15. Foods that have the least pesticides.

So I have decided of the dirty dozen I will only buy organic. That will be a good place to start.
Make are you wash and lightly scrub all fruits and vegetables you bring home.
I checked out the organic section of Meijer. The prices are generally a dollar or so higher. The selection was fair.
I also went to EarthFare. They had a wonderful selection of fresh organic produce. I have been hearing so much about kale lately, I decided to purchase some. I will share on a future post my plans for it. It will hopefully be delicious and nutritious! Have you ever eaten kale?
