Air Fryer Baked Potatoes are crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. Air frying is an easy alternative to baking a potato that saves time and energy.
I preferred my potatoes baked in the oven until I bought an Air Fryer. It took me forever to finally decide which machine to buy. Now I need to start learning how to use it.
I did a search for a recipe that appealed to me and found one on A Pinch of Healthy website.
Air Fryer Baked Potatoes
This simple method produced a potato with crispy skin,
First thing to do is wash the potatoes. I am making three potaoes.
Coat the potatoes in oil and sprinkle with garlic powder and sea salt and place them in the air fryer,
Cook at 400 F. for 40 minutes total.
After 20 minutes check the potatoes and turn them over. Continue to cook another 20 minutes. Total time cooking 40 minutes.
Remove the potatoes from the air fryer, be cautious they are hot.
Top the potatoes with butter, sour cream, anything your heart desires.
Here is what I learned:
- Turning the potatoes half way through cooking makes them perfectly crispy all the way around.
- When choosing an oil to coat the potatoes use one that has a high burning point like canola oil or avocado oil. Olive oil has a lower burning point so I would not recommend it for the air fryer,
- The taste and texture was even better than a regular baked potato.
- Add broccoli and turn the potato into an entree.
- Using the air fryer does not necessarily save time
If you have an air fryer you have not been using because you are not sure how they work. Get that baby out of the pantry and fire it up. It is time to make some crispy seasoned baked air fried potatoes. Yummy!
Until next time my friends.
