I’ve heard so much about the benefits of green tea  so when I was given the opportunity to try this Organic Matcha – Green Tea Powder I was excited. I’m not a tea drinker but with this powder in can be used in smoothies, lattes and even baking. It has 137x the antioxidants of brewed tea. Wow!

It’s also been said to increase your focus and energy though out the day, It can also give you a metabolism boost, Consuming matcha green tea can increase thermogenesis (the body’s own rate of burning calories) from a normal 8%-10% of daily energy expenditure, to between 35% and 43% of daily energy expediture.

What’s the first drink you want in the morning to get you going? Is it coffee, tea, an energy drink, a smoothie? I’ve never been a coffee drinker but on a cold morning I do enjoy a hot cup of french vanilla capacchino. On the other days I usually reach for a diet Dr Pepper. It’s bad…I know that. I found a recipe for the KissMe Matcha Green Tea Latte.

You’ll need:

1 tsp. Matcha powder
¾ cup almond milk (or soy or cow or goat milk)
¼ cup boiling water
1 tsp. agave syrup or any other sweetener you’d like Place the Matcha powder in the bottom of a coffee mug or other heat=proof cup.

Bring milk to a simmer in a small pot Whisk boiling water slowly with the Matcha powder in your mug, then pour in the milk.

It has a very smooth earthy flavor. I added a little all natural sweetener and it was very good. Next I am going to do a little baking with the Organic Matcha Green Tea powder. I’ll keep you posted. 🙂
