Slow cooker chicken with homemade onion soup mix is easy and so delicious. I use my slow cooker a couple of times a week.
It’s great coming home from work and having dinner ready. The smell is wonderful when I walk into the house.
Since I have decided to eliminate the processed foods from my diet I started looking for an alternative seasoning for my chicken. Now I make my own onion soup mix, it’s so easy!
I made this simple meal using the mix. It is healthier and less costly than the prepared mixes you find at the store.
Slow-Cooked Chicken Breasts
3 bone-in chicken breast ( you can use boneless chicken just reduce your cooking time) I start with frozen chicken if you use thawed reduce the cooking time by an hour.
2 Tbsp homemade onion soup mix or one package prepared like Lipton onion soup mix
1/2 Cup water
Remove the skin from the chicken
Place them in the slow cooker
Sprinkle onion soup mix over chicken
Add water to bottom of crock pot
Cover
Set to cook on low for 5 to 6 hours on low depending on how your slow cooker cooks. They vary, some cook hotter than others. You have to get to know how your slow cooker works.
They will fall apart tender and seasoned all the way through. Watch for any small bones when eating the chicken. This is an easy recipe for a busy day. The flavor is great, you’ll be amazed:)
