Total time:
- 5 cups of apples or 5 small apples I used Granny Smith apples peeled and sliced
- ⅔ cup sugar, I used coconut sugar
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
- Topping:
- 1 cup flour, I used whole wheat
- ½ cup of butter softened
- ½ cup of brown sugar
- In a large bowl, mix the apples, the lemon juice, sugar, and cinnamon all together until the apples are nicely coated.
- Pour into a 11x7 lighted greased glass pan, that's what I used, but you can substitute a different size if needed.
- In a small bowl mix together the flour, butter, and sugar until crumbly.
- Sprinkle the crumb topping evenly over the apples.
- Bake in a preheated 350 degrees F oven for 55 minutes to an hour or until the apples are tender and the topping is nice and brown.
- Let it cool a little bit before eating because it comes out boiling hot.
- You can top it with ice cream or whipped cream, or eat it like it is. It's a simple dessert to make and tastes so good!
