Cheddar Bay Biscuits

- 2 cups whole wheat or all purpose flour
- 1 Tbsp baking powder
- 1 Tbsp sugar
- 1 Tbsp garlic powder
- ¾ teaspoon sea salt
- 1½ sticks unsalted butter
- 1 cup milk
- 1 (8 oz) package shredded mild cheddar cheese
- Preheat the oven for 425 degree F
- Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper.
- In a small saucepan or microwaveable dish melt 1 cup of the butter, then set aside.
- In a bowl whisk together the flour, baking powder, sugar, garlic powder and salt.
- Pour the melted butter and milk into the flour mixture and whisk together until wet, do not over mix.
- Fold in the cheese.
- Drop onto baking sheet.
- Bake for 10 - 12 minutes until golden brown.
- Melt the rest of the butter and brush on top of finished biscuits.
