Energy Bites Peanut Butter and Chocolate Keto

Satisfying Energy Bites made with Peanut Butter and Chocolate are perfect for when you need fast energy during the day.

Energy Bites are keto and low carb balls of  creamy peanut butter, chocolate deliciousness! Doesn’t that sound amazing? Do I have your attention now?

Since my husband has been on a Paleo diet so I’m always looking for something to make for a snack. I’m big on snacking.

We’ve also been cutting the sugar out of our diets. Not easy for me! (As a tear slowly runs down my check.)  I love my sugar and carbs… and I need my snacks!

We have looked at either doing a keto diet or a paleo diet. Doing some research I found the diffence between the tow are

Keto means state of ketosis which means eating no more tha 20 to 30 grams of carbs in a day. You’ll be eating a lot of fats.

  • 75% of your calories from fat
  • 20% of your calories from protein
  • 5% of your calories from carbs

Paleo means  Paleolithic, which typically means eating foods that were eaten back in the Stone Age.

The combination of chocolate, peanut butter and cream cheese is amazingly delicious!

You’ll need:

  • 4 ounces Cream Cheese
  • 1/4 cup Creamy Peanut Butter
  • 2 teaspoons sugar substitute
  • 4 ounces Dark Chocolate

Mix together the softened cream cheese, peanut butter, and sugar substitute.

Roll the mixture into bite-size balls.

Chop up your chocolate into small pieces.

Notes:

1. You can easily substitute another nut butter for the peanut butter. I’ve used almond butter which is lower in carbs.

2. I used 70 percent cacao dark chocolate. Did you know that the higher the percentage, the more bitter the chocolate? 100 percent cocoa bean product is called bitter chocolate and is only suitable for baking. Semisweet chocolate has at least 35 to 55 percent cacao, with added sugar, but no dairy.

3. I kept mine in the freezer. They thaw quickly for a delicious creamy snack.

Okay, what do you think? Have you made something similar? If so please share.

Gotta grab an energy bite and get back to work! 
