My garden is all planted and now it’s time to wait for the fruits and vegetables of my labor. I live in the suburbs and have a limited amount of sunny spots in my yard to grow vegetables. I have learned to make do. I plant a fairly large garden 15 x 20. I have tomato plants, a total of 24. I also have peppers and beans. The large plant on the left is a pumpkin plant. I am going to let it grow wild and see what happens. 🙂

I also have a small herb garden closer to my side door. It makes it easy to grab a few herbs when I’m cooking. I have cilantro, dill, oregano, purple basil, thyme and rosemary. In the pots I have sage and basil babies ready to be replanted. I am not a fancy gardener. It may not always look pretty and perfect but it grows and it’s delicious! If you have a pot with some good soil and sun you can grow a few things in the summer, anyone can.

This big guy is a rhubarb plant. I think it’s pretty neat to look at. It’s an easy plant to have in the garden. Rhubarb is a perennial. This is the first year I have actually cooked with rhubarb. So stay tuned for my delicious creations which I will be posting soon.

That’s it for today. I will keep you posted on my progress in the garden. There is still plenty of time to get planting. Go out and grab a pot, some nice soil and some seeds. Find a nice sunny spot on your property and get growing. You’ll be amazed at how well you will do.

Happy Backyard Gardening!!!
