I am a big fan out fried chicken. Picking up a bucket of chicken on a Sunday afternoon when you didn’t feel like cooking. Yum! Since I have changed my eating habits, not so much take out chicken. That’s alright because I make this oven baked chicken that is skinless and crispy. Also much cheaper then take out chicken. Try this easy recipe I think you might like it 🙂

Oven Baked Chicken

Serves 3
Prep time 20 minutes
Cook time 1 hour
Total time 1 hour, 20 minutes
Baked chicken with a crispy coating like fried chicken but with much less fat.

Ingredients

  • 3 chicken breasts (skinless)
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 cup bread crumbs
  • 1 teaspoon oregano
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper

Note

You can coat as many pieces of chicken you want just increase your coating mix.

Directions

Remove skin from chicken.
With a fork whip the egg and milk in a bowl large enough to dip chicken in.
Mix the bread crumbs, oregano, garlic and cayenne pepper together in a bowl. I use a glass pie plate.
Coat chicken with egg mixture.
Then coat chicken with bread crumb mixture.
Place flesh side down in a glass baking pan coated with oil. I use melted expeller pressed coconut oil. Bake in a preheated 375 F oven for 30 minutes.
Turn chicken over after 30 minutes, Bake 30 more minutes.
Chicken is done when internal temperature reaches 165 F.
