I’m sure you’ve heard me talk about how my husband has sensitive skin. But did you know almost half of U.S. adults report having sensitive skin, That’s a lot of people! Many people change their body products but forget about their laundry products. After all your clothes lay directly against your skin, it makes sense to seek out products that are dye and perfume free.

I remember when we were first married they didn’t have any detergents that were dye and perfume free. My husband always suffered from itchy skin and would break out in rashes. The doctor’s always diagnosed skin allergies and eczema.  After a few years, they finally came out with a fragrance free detergent and it made a difference. I am happy to announce that P&G has introduced a whole line Free & Gentle products. I have been using them the past few weeks and I love them, but most importantly my husband’s skin is not irritated by the products.

Tide Free & Gentle Pods/Tide Stain Release Free In-Wash Booster, each pod contains hypoallergenic mild and gentle ingredients. You still get the same tough cleaning power as you always get with Tide. These little eco laundry detergent pods are perfect for any machine, temperature or load size. I love the convenience of the pods. I was worried that it may not get my husband’s work clothes as clean as I like, but that was not a problem at all. His clothes came out great and best of all fragrance free.

Downy Free & Gentle Fabric Softener, you get natural softness without any perfumes or dyes. .Honestly before writing this post I had never used a fabric softener. I will from now on, my clothes came out nice and soft. Especially the clothes that I line dry. In the warmer weather, I like to line dry my towels. It was easy to add in my washer right when you add your detergent you also add the fabric softener. Yours may have a special dispenser or you can use the special Down dispenser in your washer.

Bounce Free & Gentle Dryer Sheets, softens, controls static and even repels pet hair. I can’t stand when hair clings to my clothes, it’s so embarrassing. It really controlled the static cling while leaving a clean fresh scent. My husband is convinced, he has less itching and skin irritations. That also makes me very happy.

we love those products. My youngest has severe allergies and really sensitive skin w/ eczema. These are the products that we’ve found to be best for her, so the whole family switched to them!

Changing detergent made such a difference for me as well. The perfumes were giving me migraines, and the sulfates were making me itchy all the time. It’s so nice to not be scratching all day and all night long!

This is such great information! I should pass this along to our parents. We have a lot of students that don’t like certain textures of clothes because it itches or hurts them. They may need to switch detergents to help. Great tips!
