Chili in the Slow Cooker Quick & Easy

When I put together a recipe I am not big on measuring things. I just eyeball a tablespoon or teaspoon. After you have been cooking for so many years you can get very good at it. Since I have been trying to share my recipes on this blog I have to make sure I can give you an exact measurement. My daughter will be happy because I usually tell her a  pinch of this or a handful of that. She needs precise measurements. So Jen here you go and happy slow cooking.

This is an uncomplicated chili recipe, most items you should have on hand.

Chili

1 pound ground chuck

1 pound ground sausage or pork (I used a spicy sausage)

1 small onion diced

3 cans diced tomatoes ( 2 chili flavored 1 with green chilies)

1 package/can black beans

1 package/can kidney beans (I like to mix it up on the beans but any will do)

1 tablespoon chili powder

1 teaspoon cayenne pepper

1 teaspoon garlic powder

brown beef and sausage with diced onion

drain fat and place in slow cooker

add tomatoes

add beans

add chili powder, cayenne pepper and garlic powder

mix

cover and slow cook on low for 6 hours

I make pasta to pour my chili over :) You can also top with cheese.
